Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 12 saw Abby honor Maddie Ziegler’s latest video with Sia, while rival Cathy Nesbitt-Stein set out to take the ALDC down.

Abby Lee Miller was all smiles, for once, at the beginning of Dance Moms Season 5 Episode 12, and that rarity was all thanks to Maddie (of course).

Ziegler’s second leading role in a music video by pop singer Sia, "Elastic Heart," not only delighted her coach, but inspired this week’s trio of performances.

Oh yes. Abbs put together three duets in honor of Maddie.

Ziegler, 12, was paired with Kalani Hilliker, 14, while JoJo Siwa, 11, and Kendall Vertes, 12, teamed up, as did Mackenzie Ziegler, 10, and Nia Frazier, 14.

The group routine, inspired by the classic board game Clue, was also an ode to Maddie Ziegler and Shia LaBeouf‘s controversial Sia video performance art.

Abby said that acting was being incorporated into the dance, and with the ALDC headed back to L.A. in a matter of weeks, it’s time to step up its game.

Meanwhile, Cathy Nesbitt-Stein and the Candy Apples created an all-new team, which included several former ALDC figures seeking some payback.

Oh, and needless to say, she hated the Sia video.

“I am flabbergasted," she said in an interview when it came out. "I don’t think that many parents out there would allow that. That was not an art form to me."

Anyway, soon it was off to the competition, where things got heated.

Not that you need us to tell you if you watch Dance Moms online ever, as it goes without saying. Still, the tension was unusually high this week it felt like.

When Candy Apples dance mom Melanie Huelsman took a shot at Abby for using the "same six steps" in all of her dances, Maddie’s mom recoiled.

Melissa Gisoni told her she was embarrassing herself. Melanie replied, "I don’t care! I would be embarrassed about the video your daughter was in!"

Burrrrrrrrrrn.

ALDC mom Kira Girard asked the crowd if they were embarrassed by Maddie, and the audience responded with cheers … that we think were positive.

Abby took a different tack, saying of Melanie, "She’d sell her kid to anyone Tom, Dick or Harry on the street if she thought it would get her face on TV!"

Dayyyyum.

As is often the case, Abby got the last laugh as her team placed first, with Kalani and Maddie also winning first place for their duet, while the Candy Apples took third.
